LAHORE: The recently-held Karachi Literature Festival should be the proverbial feather in the city’s cap. Credit goes to the organisers who arranged such a marvellous event in spite of the security risks. Also, the writers and the thousands of people who attended it should be applauded. The event should be seen as a much-needed whiff of fresh air for literature-starved people. It is extremely important that more such events are regularly organised.
Such healthy activities will also inculcate the fast-dying habit of reading in young people and perhaps motivate them to become movers for change in society through the power of the pen.
