Does he have any sense of proportion or understanding of issues?
HERNDON, VA, US: Mr Imran Khan’s statement in your newspaper on February 7, that the ICC “verdict has demoralised people more than the floods”, is sad, though not surprising. Does he have any sense of proportion or understanding of issues? Just look at the callousness of the statement that demeans the plight of the poor victims and insults the sensitivities of the Pakistani people at the same time. In defending Salman Butt, Mr Khan seems to have been blind to the enormity of the tragedy of the floods. How can one equate the plight of poverty-stricken millions of honest people made homeless by the devastating floods, with three dishonest cricketers who brought shame and disgrace to the nation?
If anything, the nation understands the verdict and that it means that other cricketers will hopefully learn a lesson.
