The question remains, who will deal with this matter by applying their own grey matter?
ISLAMABAD: ‘Capacity building’ has become a buzz word in our society but what type of capacity is being built of trainees as the impact of these capacity-building endeavours is not visible anywhere in the practical field. This empty sum situation must call the management and faculty members of various training institutes and academies to account.
Many human resource management experts and mentors of high repute would concur with me that hiring disinterested employees as faculty members and backing the wrong horses as resource persons for capacity building organisations, on the sole criterion of personal relationship, including ethnic, regional or sectarian affinity — and not ethics, knowledge, information, wisdom, prudence and professionalism — has made many training endeavours dismal and drab, insipid and ineffective, lacking in motivation and meaningless.
Is there anyone to take notice of the hiring and rehiring of the candidates who have no grey matter, sensitivity towards training and retraining, and above all, knowing no sanctity of teaching and training? The question remains, who will deal with this matter by applying their own grey matter?
