MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: The news of the passing of Maulana Abdul Sattar Edhi was received with bouts of grief and agony across the globe. Edhi sahib shed all the differences that divide human beings and rose above all sorts of biases. He set high moral standards that would be remembered and praised for all times to come. People like Maulana Edhi are a source of inspiration for millions across the universw. His message through his work was the message of humanity. He is a perfect example of cause motivation; despite his low level formal education and the fact that he belonged to the lower income strata of Pakistani society, set an illustration of great commitment and belief. He stood firm against the opposition of greedy interest seekers. He was a man of few words but countless deeds.
All sections of Pakistani society are paying tribute to the deceased but the real question is, how many citizens of our nation can actually follow the path of Maulana Edhi? If there is one name that all Pakistanis can agree upon, it is none other but Maulana Abdul Sattar Edhi. He has certainly set the bar very high.
