People are consciously avoiding the shopping district due to the dangerous and uneven pavement of the road
KARACHI: I am a resident of Haideri, Block H, in Karachi. A month ago, the main road of Nagina was dug up to repair water/sewerage lines. After the maintenance work, the road was covered by loose sand. This loose sand has created huge ditches on the road. This is a main road of the Haideri shopping market where several other markets like Madni Mall, Final Choice and other well-known shopping centres are located.
According to shopkeepers of the area, even though this is a prime season for business, the treacherous condition of the road has driven business down. People are consciously avoiding the shopping district due to the dangerous and uneven pavement of the road. I request the city government to look into this matter and order the flattening of the road via complete reconstruction for the benefit of people and traders.
