Rejoinder

Letter February 03, 2011
Pervez Musharraf is probably the only ruler of Pakistan who has not been accused of corruption.

LAHORE: This is with reference to Ayesha Siddiqa’s article titled “The tale of ‘general’ Usmani” published on January 30. I would like to clarify that Mr Waqar Usmani was an acquaintance of Pervez Musharraf and that, except meeting him on a visit to Bahawalpur, no favour was given to him. For the record, he was not allotted any land by former President Pervez Musharraf in Cholistan or anywhere else. The former president respects the right of expression. However, that right must be used fairly and not to forward any agenda. Pervez Musharraf is probably the only ruler of Pakistan who has not been accused of corruption.
