I disagree with Marvi Memon when she says that this change can be brought about through a revolution.
ISLAMABAD: This is in response to Marvi Memon’s article of February 2 titled “Dare to dream”. The writer is correct in pointing out that Pakistan needs a change and needs its people to become united. That said, I disagree with her when she says that this change can be brought about through a revolution. This is unlikely given that we have so many divisions in society along ethnic, religious, linguistic and sectarian lines. Secondly, we are not like Tunisia or other Arab countries in that we already have democratic institutions, an independent judiciary and a vibrant media.
