Ramazan calls for sharing with others, not for answering nonsensical questions and winning material products
KARACHI: While browsing through channels after iftar the other day, I realised that my television screen had been taken over by multiple transmissions airing on different channels with almost the same format. These transmissions start before iftar, continue during and go on way past iftar.
The distribution of gifts in this holy month is a good thing but making a mockery out of people, exhibiting uncultured humour and passing personal comments is not appropriate. This beautiful month calls for sharing with others, not for answering nonsensical questions and winning material products. I hope some sanity soon prevails and our electronic media raises itself beyond mere ratings.
