Dug-up roads

Letter June 04, 2016
People are also suffering due to a shortage of pipe water; there is hardly enough water even to take a shower

It has been a month since the government began excavation work at the Upper Mall Scheme Lahore, and it is still not complete. The project lacks planning due to which residents are facing problems. Roads in the area have been left dug up for weeks. Many other problems, like broken landlines, telephone cables, damaged gas pipelines, burst water supply pipes and water seeping on the roads, have added to the misery of the residents.

The construction process has been so poor that cars have been seen trapped in ditches on the roads. People are also suffering due to a shortage of pipe water; there is hardly enough water to wash dishes, clothes or even take a shower. The government should solve these problems immediately.
