Save the trees

Letter June 03, 2016
We should preserve more trees, leading to a healthy and clean environment carrying fresh air and better life quality

LAHORE: The population of the world is increasing and more trees are needed to meet the needs of human beings. Today, when pollution has reached unprecedented heights, everyone has only one question on his/her mind: how to save the environment from being polluted and how to protect Earth from climate-induced disaster? One way is to preserve trees. These play an important role in keeping our environment clean. If we chop down trees, it will decrease the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, thereby giving rise to toxic pollution and acid rain.

Trees are used for many purposes in our daily lives. Instead of wasting paper and using up more trees as a consequence, we should plant as many trees as possible for every tree that is chopped down. If there is added emphasis on recycling and the use of paper is minimised, we will be able to preserve more trees, leading to a healthy and clean environment that carries fresh air and a better quality of life.
