ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Saleha Riaz’s article of January 28 titled “Where have all the sane Muslims gone?” I would agree with some of your readers who have said that they all vanished when our parliament got involved in the act of determining who was a Muslim and who wasn’t. I also feel that such people reside in English-speaking journalism, and the lack of translations of, or the actual writing of, articles such as Ms Riaz’s in Urdu has polarised the nation into an English-speaking ‘modern’ society versus an Urdu-speaking ‘conservative’ one.
