Prolonged power outages

Prolonged power cuts in such scorching heat has forced people to protest against the incompetence of the authorities

HYDERABAD: Prolonged power cuts in such scorching heat has forced people to protest against the incompetence of the authorities. Unsurprisingly, their voice has not been heard and has been pitilessly ignored.

I live near Market Tower in Hyderabad. We are paying consumers of Hesco, and utilising electricity legally. However, each month, blunders by the company’s field staff continue to be observed. Unannounced power outages and voltage fluctuations, causing thousands of rupees worth of damage to people’s electrical appliances every year, are regular features of the company’s service. In January, I lodged a complaint to the ombudsman and assumed my issue would be sorted out swiftly but to my great disappointment, the issue is still pending. In the light of the above, I would like to request Hesco to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
