Exactly one week after the publication of my letter in this newspaper, I got my smart card from the NADRA office
KARACHI: I would like to convey my sincere gratitude to The Express Tribune for publishing my appeal (May 7), addressed to the Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. I received three phone calls from the NADRA office in Islamabad from three different people assuring me of getting my nationality verification done within 24 hours.
I was surprised to receive a fourth phone call on the same day from the media coordinator of the interior minister. He told me that he has personally given directions to his staff to complete the verification immediately and called the chairman of NADRA to put my smart card in printing without further delay.
On May 14, exactly one week after the publication of my letter in this newspaper, I got my smart card from the NADRA office, situated on Shahra-e-Quaideen in Karachi. I would like to thank the interior minister, whose timely intervention helped me get my smart card issued, which had been pending with NADRA since November, 2015.
