Collection of CNICs is the sole responsibility of an applicant and blaming NADRA for a delay would be unjustified
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to a letter by Begum Sarwar Ghazanfar entitled “Inefficiency” (April 27). The Ministry of Interior clarified that NADRA printed the computerised national identity card (CNIC) of Begum Sarwar Ghazanfar before the given deadline but the applicant’s son was unable to collect it despite reminders from the NADRA office during the three months mentioned in Ms Ghazanfar’s letter. It is worth mentioning that NADRA continues to provide home data registration services to elderly applicants at their residences. The services include the collection of thumb impressions and digital pictures of applicants. We would like to inform readers that collection of CNICs is the sole responsibility of the applicant and blaming NADRA for any inordinate delay would be highly unjustified.
