You just have to believe and deliver the required hard work and then just wait for the results
KARACHI: I am an avid football follower and recently, one of the best success stories was written in football’s history when Leicester City won the English Premier League title, one of the most prestigious in the football world. This is huge because Leicester City was on the verge of relegation last season and this season, their chances were low and not even the shrewdest football analysts were fancying their chance of winning the league in the presence of football giants like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, which are financially stable and have the best football players among their ranks. Leicester City started their season low-key, with not a very star-studded squad, gradually making their way to the top. They kept performing well and took one match at a time, and now they are the victors. They had a low-profile squad but now two of their players are the talk of the town and one is the leading goal-scorer of the season. Both of them are now eyeing great careers.
What is there for us Pakistanis in this fairytale-like story? It is belief. In a time where success is perceived to be achieved by the rich only, a relatively poor person can make his way to the top too. It’s not mandatory to have a lot of wealth to be successful but sometimes, scarce finances along with high morale and faith can do wonders. You just have to believe and deliver the required hard work and then just wait for the results. You can fight all adversities if you stay staunch. This choice is there for our sports teams to make as well so that they, too, may be victorious and make us proud.
