Minimum age requirement for SPSC jobs

Letter May 09, 2016
The age requirement issue should be resolved by lowering the minimum age

HYDERABAD: The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has recently announced posts in various departments through advertisements. There are three posts for assistant director in the energy department with a minimum age requirement of 28 years. Regarding qualification requirements, one should have a Bachelor’s degree, but no experience is required. One completes their Bachelor’s education by the age of 21 or 22. By setting a 28-year minimum age, the SPSC has perplexed candidates.

What is the intention of the SPSC behind barring fresh graduates from applying for the jobs? The age requirement issue should be resolved by lowering the minimum age as graduates — fresh, as well as those who are between 22 and 28 years of age — can potentially lead the position successfully.
