How could anyone indulge in an appallingly terrible act of torturing a helpless young girl for helping a friend elope?
RAWALPINDI: How could someone stoop so low, I ask myself? How could anyone indulge in an appallingly terrible inhuman act of torturing a helpless young girl for helping a friend elope? Where were our law-enforcement agencies when the self-appointed jirga of murderers was in session for almost five hours, debating the fate of the poor innocent girl? Where were her kith and kin, relatives, neighbours and other religious scholars when she was being dragged out of her bed at midnight? I am sure she must have cried and wailed, but no one came to her rescue?
I hope that justice will be done and that too, speedily and not dragged for years.
