Park in Islamabad

CDA can do a lot more to improve the newly built public park between the F-10 and F-11 sectors of Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has done well in converting a part of the green belt between F-10 and F-11 sectors of Islamabad into a public park. People living in the adjoining areas have appreciated this and a large number of them can be seen frequenting the park. In the evenings, in particular, children are seen using the slides, swings and exercise bars, men and women are seen jogging on the tracks laid out for the purpose, while the elderly relax on the benches.

However, a great deal remains to be done to complete the laudable project. The ground inside needs to be levelled and cleared of rubble and surplus material. All weeds, shrubs and other wild growth must be removed and approaches from the sidewalk to the platforms of the canopies and benches, properly constructed. It is hoped these minor tasks will be completed soon to make the park more usable for residents of the area. Later on, perhaps, lighting and toilet facilities could also be provided.
