The Prime Minister should order opening of all corruption cases at each and every government level immediately
FAISALABAD: Honourable Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, I am a professional engineer and my letter to you is heartfelt. It gives me great pleasure that Pakistan is rapidly moving forward on the path of progress under your kind leadership. Peace, prosperity and stability are being brought back to Pakistan after operation Zarb-e-Azb was implemented to combat the menace of terrorism. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a big door for development in the country. The work on different ongoing projects of energy and power are also giving a lot of hope to the people. A day will surely come when the darkness will disappear and be overcome by light. Public service departments are growing fast and Pakistan Railways is moving on the right track — it has even become profitable.
Your keen interest in motivating the youth by giving them laptops on merit, creating internship programmes, improving healthcare by establishing a new health insurance scheme, and expanding the agriculture sector by helping farmers via the Kisan Package are all appreciable steps towards improving the welfare of citizens. I admire the government’s commitment to continue the Benazir Income Support Programme for the poor and needy people.
I strongly felicitate your decision to form a judicial commission headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan to probe the Panama Leaks regarding your family members and others. With all due respect, however, I am not satisfied, like many other Pakistanis, with your government’s ambiguous policy of accountability. There is no crystal clear and transparent mechanism for the eradication of corruption. The performance of NAB and the FIA is very poor. Unfortunately, corruption is widespread in every sector of our country, particularly in the judiciary, bureaucracy, education, healthcare, police and law enforcement, public utilities, sports and taxation. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali has said occasionally that he has a bundle of files related to the corruption of politicians in the opposition. During the PTI sit-in in Islamabad, he had threatened Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan in the National Assembly but, later on, why did you, as prime minister, ask him to keep quiet? There is a dire need to make a comprehensive policy with the help of all political parties to eradicate corruption. I humbly request the prime minister to order the opening of all corruption cases at each and every government level immediately.
