The govt should make people aware that it is not in the hands of the woman to decide the gender of the child
KARACHI: It was very difficult to believe the news about the murder of a woman in Faisalabad for not bearing a male child. A mother of two daughters was beaten to death by her husband, accompanied by his family members. This happened in the province of Punjab where the Women Protection Bill is still under debate.
It is a grave matter and the government should take the responsibility of making people aware of the biological process and that, it is not in the hands of the woman to decide the gender of the child. Punishing the culprit is not enough to stop the crime but one should educate the masses on a wide scale and also employ strict measures to put an end to this barbaric act.
