Tall claims

Letter January 24, 2011
Mr Haider claimed a lot when he fled the Pakistan cricket team while it was in the UAE, and went to London.

DAMMAN, SAUDI ARABIA: This is with reference to your report of January 21 titled “I’m out of cash: Zulqarnain Haider”. Mr Haider claimed a lot when he fled the Pakistan cricket team while it was in the UAE, and went to London. He claimed to have been offered a lot of money to throw away matches. He claimed to have evidence which he said would prove that the Pakistan Cricket Board is corrupt. He also claimed to have been threatened and that he knew of players who were involved in the match-fixing racket. But so far he’s provided us with nothing. How can we support someone who does not have any proof? And now he claims to have run out of money.
