World Cup hullabaloo

Letter April 07, 2016
We are victimising the coach and the team without realising that we were just not good enough

ISLAMABAD: Why are we making such an issue about losing in the World Cup? We are victimising the coach and the team without realising that we were just not good enough, as Waqar Younis correctly stated. The other teams were better than us and therefore, the better teams won. For instance, the West Indies defeated India and then England in the final. In short — the better team claimed the cup.

Let’s not behave with this lack of sportsman spirit the next time around. Let’s take the defeat gracefully and hope for a stronger team performance next time. It was, after all, a game — not a war.
