I urge the authorities to look into making the streets safe for women
KARACHI: This is apropos the recent news report about female bikers being deployed for equality. It is heartening to know that young women are standing up against gender inequality and female harassment. In our society, it is considered a taboo for girls to pursue physical sports such as cycling. And if they do pursue them, they are mostly subject to harassment.
I urge the authorities to look into making the streets safe for women. I also urge parents to teach their children to refrain from harassing others.
Kudos to these girls for taking this step.
