ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is reported to be one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change in the world today. This situation is further worsened by its poor state of economic development, low adaptive capacity and its crumbling and decrepit infrastructure. A new report in international media suggests that a widespread switch to vegetarianism would cut food-related greenhouse gas emissions by 63 per cent — not to mention make people healthier.
Ours is a nation of meat eaters and annually, we devour millions of animals such as buffaloes, calves, cows, bulls, goats, lambs and camels. However, the time has come for our nation of carnivores to eat less meat to help fight global warming.
