Unity is the key

Letter March 31, 2016
The real problem in the fight against terrorism lies in the mindset of linking terrorists to religions and vice-versa

MUMBAI, INDIA: The bomb attacks at Brussels airport and its metro station that killed at least 34 people, are the acts of cowards and condemnable. All politicians should endorse the fact that terrorism has no religion and that no religion supports acts of terror. Political parties should desist from playing the communal card while dealing with the menace of terror.

The real problem in the fight against terrorism lies in the mindset of linking terrorists to religions and vice-versa. We should break this myth. A rational and scientific approach is the need of the hour in dealing with terrorism.

Now is the time for the political class to stop playing petty politics over the terror menace. Unity is the keyword in tackling terrorism, and ceaseless and combined efforts are needed to fight it. Thus, countries should bury their differences and stand united against terrorism.
