This bill, if implemented, would result in more broken families, more disaffection and anarchy in society
KARACHI: I see broken marriages because, for example, a man who had been in police custody on account of his wife’s complaint would never agree to live with her after his release. This bill, if implemented, would result in more broken families and there would thus be more disaffection and anarchy in society.
The Women’s Protection Bill implies that a husband and wife will be separated in a way that they are neither allowed to meet or talk to each other to mend matters. Additionally, if parents want to prohibit their daughters from meeting potential suitors they consider incompatible, the law stops them from doing so, which will render women unprotected instead of keeping them protected.
