The failure for Pakistan has not been a lack of action on the guidelines given by the founder.
LAHORE: It seems that everybody and everyone has an opinion on Jinnah’s Pakistan — which was not Jinnah’s only. Hundreds and thousands of Muslims left their homes and sacrificed their lives to come to Pakistan. In 2011 it is absolutely immaterial what Jinnah thought of the future of Pakistan, or what his views were on running the state. The responsibility of achieving success as a state rests on each generation as it passes the mantle to the next one. It would be a grave mistake to adhere to one man’s wishes when the world changes every day around us.
The failure for Pakistan has not been a lack of action on the guidelines given by the founder, but in their comprehensive and absolute inability in producing politically sane, morally sound leadership. It is easy to criticise the army, the corrupt politicians and the wayward masses, but the reality remains that we have failed to prepare our next generations to take up the responsibility of leading the nation.
