Non-Muslim holidays

Letter March 24, 2016
Every Pakistani has the right to practise their culture without any restriction

KARACHI: The government recently and reluctantly accepted a resolution in the National Assembly seeking holidays on the days of annual festivals of some minority communities. The holidays include Holi, Diwali and Easter.

This is a great step taken by the government of Pakistan. Every Pakistani has the right to practise their culture without any restriction. Pakistan seems to be changing and we would be happy if the Pakistani leadership continues to expand its understanding of the great values of its eclectic, ancient culture. We should protect our minorities and respect their religions, cultures and traditions.
