An open letter to the PM, on daughters

Letter March 07, 2016
I request the Prime Minister, Chief Justice, CM and IG Sindh to bring the rapist of a minor girl to justice

ISLAMABAD: On March 3, when I read the news about the rape of a 4th grade girl, aged 11 years, from Larkana, tears came to my eyes and my grief knew no bounds. The cruel teacher was Muzaffar Mirani who confessed to raping the innocent girl and medical tests yielded further proof.

I request newspaper editors, the prime minister, the chief justice of Pakistan, the chief minister of Sindh and the IG Sindh to help bring Muzaffar to justice through the due process of law as soon as possible. No evidence is required because the crime has been confessed and thus, we must waste no time in handing the criminal his due punishment. I request the prime minister, who recently congratulated Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on winning her second Oscar award, to help provide justice to wronged women. Rapists must be awarded deterrent punishment.
