Adequate and urgent measures need to be taken by DHA to make public transport available to about 1,000 families
KARACHI: There is absolutely no public transport available at Sea View, as a result of which the residents of Sea View Township face great difficulty. This especially applies to female students who have to catch the bus early in the morning for college and elderly people who cannot drive or lack personal conveyance. Earlier, CNG buses and private coaches were allowed to ply Beach Avenue, also known as the Sea View Road — and a taxi and rickshaw stand was also centrally located. For some reason — obviously, not in public interest, these facilities were unfairly terminated. Consequently, one either has to wait for hours for a random rickshaw or taxi to pass by or walk a mile to Saba Commercial Avenue to get one. Not to forget, people run the risk of being mugged by criminals in the streets.
Adequate and urgent measures need to be taken by DHA to make public transport available to about 1,000 families and visitors at a central location in Sea View Township.
