I commend Competition Commission for imposing fine on a private company copying product packaging and labelling
KARACHI: I would like to commend the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) for taking the bold decision to fine a private company for copying the product packaging and labelling of a famous brand.
If our authorities allow such practices by companies, it would prove harmful to both the business interests of other companies and brands and would encourage compromises on the quality of foods.
Pakistan has already been quite notorious in patent and copyright violations and such a violation by local companies could have added to the country’s embarrassment at the international level. It is time that authorities come down hard on rule violations of any kind.
