Many people in Pakistan are blaming the maulvis for the extremism which they say is now rampant in the country.
KARACHI: This is with reference to your report of January 15 titled “Blasphemy allegations: Another Christian family on the run”. Many people in Pakistan are blaming the maulvis for the extremism which they say is now rampant in the country. However, do they ever pause to think and consider the possibility that perhaps other parties are also to blame for the present state of affairs? For example, shouldn’t one also hold responsible successive governments which stood by and did nothing to check the power appropriated by the clerics?
