The authorities concerned should understand that a large number of people are out commuting from day to night
KARACHI: Karachi, being a mega city of the country, in terms of its population and growth, does not provide public toilets to its citizens. Many people usually use the city streets as toilets. Shopping malls have proper toilets but they are very few in number in the city. In any case, the purpose of modern malls is not necessarily to provide restrooms for the public.
The authorities concerned should understand that a large number of people are out commuting from day to night. If there are no proper public toilets, then people will have no choice but to opt for using the city streets, which will have a negative impact on the environment. The situation is embarrassing.
Therefore, I request the relevant authorities to build public toilets across the city, such as at fuel stations, restaurants and public offices.
