We need to see all state institutions being strengthened, especially those entrusted with upholding the law.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Rana Tanveer’s report of January 15 titled: “Blasphemy allegations: Another Christian family on the run”.
Our society is becoming more and more violent. This is not necessarily a religious or an ethnic issue but a sociological problem. And if we do not check it immediately, it could lead to complete anarchy.
For starters, we need to see all state institutions being strengthened, especially those entrusted with upholding the law. Furthermore, people need to be provided a sense of social justice so that their belief in the system is reinforced. People such as Salmaan Taseer’s killer do what they do because they are attracted to a particular kind of ideology, often based on an innate sense of insecurity.
