Without a fence built to seal the western border, it would only be a dream that the CPEC will bring prosperity
ISLAMABAD: A laudable announcement was made by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in the Senate on January 21 where he said that he agreed to the proposal that there should be a fence to seal our western border.
The critical issue of cross-border movement between Pakistan and Afghanistan was raised by Senator Muzaffar Hussain Shah. Such a measure to manage large-scale disorder on this porous mountainous border is in the vital interest of peace and prosperity in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. Without such a fence, it would only be a dream that the western route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring prosperity to the country.
