DG KHAN: At least two dozen villages of two tehsils in DG Khan district have been deprived of electricity since December 6, 2015, when Wapda cut off their electricity supply. The irony is that this was down on account of the illegal activities of the landlords of the area, who had defaulted on tube-well bills worth tens of millions of rupees, and yet the population of approximately 30,000 residents of these villages is bearing the brunt of the landlords’ guilt.
I appeal to the Punjab government to look into the matter and punish only the real culprits — the landlords — and restore electricity for the people who have paid their bills on time.
