The loudspeaker ban is being flouted in Lahore, making life miserable and nights sleepless for residents
LAHORE: The National Action Plan, amongst other things, brought immense relief to ordinary citizens in that it banned the use of loudspeakers in mosques except for the call to prayer. However, in recent weeks, their indiscriminate use has reared its ugly head again and the ban is being boldly flouted in certain localities of Lahore, making life miserable and nights sleepless for residents.
The police and authorities are requested to strictly enforce the loudspeaker ban. They should also advertise this in print and broadcast media, mentioning phone numbers and email addresses where people can report violations.
