ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Abid Qaiyum Suleri’s piece of January 7 titled “Salmaan Taseer could have been alive…”. The problem stems from the fact that most people in the country want to do things the democratic way and this means introducing new laws or rules through parliament. However, the mullahs, who usually get no seats in parliament resort to underhand tactics. They either come out in the streets and try and blackmail governments or they support military dictators and use them to further their own agendas. In my view, a corrupt but elected government is far better than one run by the mullahs or their proxies.
