Use of loudspeakers

Letter December 19, 2015
In violation of the National Action Plan, loudspeakers are still being used for rhetorical speeches voicing hate

SUKKUR: Loudspeakers in mosques are supposed to be used only for the call to prayer and for Friday sermons, according to the National Action Plan (NAP). However, loudspeakers are still being used for rhetorical speeches voicing hate for other sects.

The law-enforcement agencies must look into the matter effectively and ensure that loudspeakers are not used for purposes other than the prescribed ones enshrined in the NAP. All religious zealots who violate this law should be dealt with an iron hand as they are responsible for creating division and hatred among the people.
