It is clear from the results that Sindh, from Kashmore to Karachi, has rejected right-wing political parties
ABU DHABI: The local government election process on December 5 was conducted in a peaceful manner except for a few minor clashes here and there. It is clear from the results that Sindh — from Kashmore to Karachi — has rejected right-wing political and religious parties. The PTI was considered an alternative political force in Sindh, but its alliances and seat adjustments impaired its credibility. In Karachi, the PTI joined hands with the Jamat-e-Islami, and in the interior of Sindh with the PML-F and religious outfits. Sindh, yet again, has set another example of rejecting right-wing politics altogether.
Hospitality, honour and respect are imperative to building serenity between provinces. All provinces must realise that no matter what faith one belongs to, being tolerant of opposing sides is key to conducting fair elections.
