Lights, joy, mithai: Eid Miladun Nabi in Pakistan
Forget all the troubles, hassle, inflation and terrorism which is rampant here and take one day to celebrate!
We call them ‘choti choti khushiyan.’
Forget all the troubles, hassle, inflation and terrorism which are rampant in our country, and take one day, one event, to celebrate.
Today, it is Eid Miladun Nabi.
The entire country is lit up and decorated.
Even the ‘city of lights’ gets to see a lot of lights, despite the loadshedding.
Taking advantage of the holiday, people meet old relatives, share food and sweets.
Many even take their families to zoos and parks just to celebrate this beautiful day.
As my friend would like to put it, the entire country goes ‘meetha meetha’.
Being a shutterbug, I tried finding this sweetness in pictures.
Here are a few best ones I got my hands on:

A random street in Rawalpindi looking spectacular with all the lights.
Have you seen the Aiwan-e-Quaid building in Islamabad? Here is a picture of it beautifully decorated.
Can you believe this is the city of lights which is almost always out of power?
Eid Miladun Nabi is incomplete without fire crackers.
Who said only buildings were supposed to be decorated? Here's a bikerider in Karachi with his pimped out ride.
The Supreme Court building never looked this beautiful!
Do you recognise this building? Yes, it is the parliament.
This is what we call 'the height of sweetness.' A 16-storey cake baked in Faisalabad to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi.
