An Islamic 'scholar' is preaching a warped, misogynist version of Heaven's virgin hoors, naked to their bone...

Sex - and anything remotely connected to sex - sells. Whether its one-liners in Nandos ads punning on ‘peri-peri hot chicks’ or a Twitter upload of Anthony Weiner’s manhood, sexual innuendos are popular.

Don’t ask me why – I’m not a social scientist and I don’t purport to know why people are so interested in the act. I just know that they are. And this YouTube video proves my point.

This ‘scholar’ (I hate to use this word to describe him, but this is a public forum and I am going to maintain a certain level of respect) is preaching his version of the Islamic Afterlife – replete with virgins, spiritual Viagra and an irresistible account of an orgy. In a voice much too shrill for my liking, he begins:

“Let me tell you what Allah has prepared for you Muslims. Let me tell you about the virgins you will meet in heaven. Forget about your maili kuchaili (filthy) wives in this world.”

This great man launches into a full-blown account of 70 hoors and their mattress moves in heaven – a story so graphic it could land him a job as an erotic novelist.

He describes the clothes draped around their virgin bodies; 70 layers of magical see-through fabric that will “allow a man to catch a glimpse of the bone marrow in their shins.”

Surprised?

So was I – I didn’t know bone marrow was sexy. But I’m guessing a million translucent burqas and skeletons make this guy tick – to each their own fetish.

The sermon gets juicier. “These virgins are not just there to kiss you and sit with – you can enjoy them any way you like.”

And then for those with the premature ejaculation problem, he says “in heaven you will have the strength of many men” instead of being “minton mein faarigh.”

Jokes aside, this video deeply troubles me – and my problem is not just that it objectifies women as sex toys. His message bothers me: don’t be good for God – be good for sex and heavy lidded damsels.

He revels in telling his listeners – who giggle appreciatively - that their wives aren’t good enough and there is no point in “loving” them. He tells them to be good Muslims, to pray and be God’s servants, so that they can be rewarded with women that will fight for attention in bed.

After this sneak peek into the mind of a 'scholar', I shudder to think that similar techniques are used to inspire young, susceptible boys to exchange their precious lives for sick fantasies warped and twisted by the men who preach them.

amina | 13 years ago | Reply i have studied with them for the past 3 years . their purity and piety exceeds anyone i have ever meet so far. the term sufi is extremely vast. they are not the dancing dervish sufi lol. the only addition that i feel they have done is zikir which is to be done on your own..which is remembering Allah (SBT)with all attention at any time of the day. they follow the fiq completely and purely . please listen to one of the talks and you will have a clearer picture. you can meet him at lums or in this gullberg madrasa " the cure to ignorance is asking questions''' please dont be under the impression that they are sufis as your or my previous understanding of that word. they are 100% on the shariah, jzkallah kher @abuzar:

amina | 13 years ago | Reply @sarah: what amazes me is how things are put completely out of context ... what amazes me more is how quickly we pass judgement without knowledge of the madrasa system ...and why shouldn't we ??? after all we have been conditioned into believing that madrasas only preach evil . please just visit this website www.islamicspirituality.org this particular mufti has studied from the same pakistani madras that we assume are so evil . instead of believing everything u hear or see in the media you should enter one of these madrasas your self. and when you do u will find that not even in the most least established madrasa institution, will there ever be a speaker like the one in this article. there are bad examples in every profession and educational system. just because there is one bad bad example it does not mean that everyone is like that. just because a person who went through the olevel system is a complete jack ass does not mean that there is a flaw with the system..it just mean that that guy is an ass... unfortunately only the bad examples are bought in light.but i guess its not our fault all we ever hear about madrasas is in a negative way and god forbid if we ever step into one we will be labeled as an extremist. please do visit the website

Its our own fault as muslims because we have limited the religion to these maulvis instead of putting in a little effort into understanding Islam ourselves by referring to the Quran and the Sahih Hadith. Islam is not a go to for justifying random and perverted acts - by listing Ayats and hadith in isolation rather than the context - but a proper guide as a way of life. A word of advice if I may, please in this age of cofusion and frustration, try to shed light on the positive aspects of our religion and society rather the negativity that surrounds us although I do understand the need to highlight these issues. Once again, good job.

A man of god , surely should be more respectful of the mother of his children, and towards the bounties of heaven. They all tell fairy tales of 'lands far far away'. How many of us have ever gone back and cross-referenced their claims from Qura'an and Hadith? None! and they know that. They will sell you anything as long as you are willing to buy.

How about the fact that countless speeches (youtube: Rewards of Paradise) by Islamic Speakers include the other 'less interesting' rewards of Paradise - peace of mind, security, unlimited delicious fruits, water, mansions,. According to the logic the author applied (which I agree with), this would mean 'don't be good for God - be good for heavenly fruit and wine'. The point I'm trying to make is that doesn't seem to 'deeply trouble' the author?

The problem is the belief that Quran is perfect and Prophet Muhammad is the last true source for the word of Allah. Once, you accept that Quran is good (not perfect and definitely not the final word) and Prophet Muhammad was a respectable and impressive man (and not the only source of truth), Islam will start making sense once again.

I have a first hand of experience of Tableeghi Jamaat's morning nashist on a seh-roza. The tableeghis are encouraged to tell narrate to the new comers the mind blowing dimensions of a hoor. 36-28-36 looks quite pathetic against the description I have heard. The whole mindset of these guys is built around the idea if anything is attributed to the Prophet (even if its Pronography), it is to be believed. And most unfortunate thing is that there are books which attribute such stories to the Propeht (PBUH). And this ultra-conservative mindset, at the zenith of which are the mullahs, existed long before we had terrorist tendencies. This mindset professes against seeing the narrations rationally, is obviously the root of all evils.

I mean, sure, we all buy sex (be it chicken at Nando's or lawn), but we have to draw the line somewhere, even if it's a tad bit hypocritical of us to slam this guy down when he's just doing what everyone else is doing. I find it difficult to agree with this temptation filled version of after life but this is only a vivid example of the philosophy that lurks under the surface of maulvism. They lure muslims to good deeds not out of love of their Creator but for the love of booze and virgins. To many this is serious stuff and their belief in the erotic version of heaven is too real to convince them otherwise. I say, let them do good deeds in the hope of their hoors. At least they will be doing the right things in life. It is strange though that the very temptations banned in this life are portrayed as treats for afterlife. Men have a weak mind and their strength of character is too brittle in the face of such temptations and thus this makes a perfect strategy for the trainers of suicide bombers to exploit. And what of good deeds for the love of Allah? there is no fun in that....is there?
