PESHAWAR: Driver distraction is responsible for a significant proportion of traffic accidents. Cellular phone use is a serious issue, which has known to cause many traffic accidents. Text messaging while driving can be really dangerous because, firstly, the driver’s eyes are off the road, and secondly, his hands are not on the steering wheel. Thirdly, his mind is distracted as well.
Driving a vehicle is a task that requires complete focus and it is a must that drivers be alert at all times. Legislation is needed to tackle this issue.
