It is high time that all stakeholders took on the painstaking task of improving living conditions of Afghan refugees
SOHBATPUR: This letter is apropos the editorial “A bleak life for refugees” on November 19 in The Express Tribune. Quoting a recent report of Human Rights Watch, the plight of Afghan refugees is described explicitly. It is further added that we, too, have suffered a lot from the refugee crisis in Pakistan.
The very basis of our sociopolitical structure has been shaken. It is high time that all stakeholders, including Pakistan, Afghanistan and the US, along with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, took on the painstaking task of improving the living conditions of Afghan refugees without further delay. They cannot continue living in such conditions.
