KARACHI:

The Futsal Federation of Pakistan (FFP) will work together with the Bradford City Futsal Club to develop a national team for the country and host the squad in the UK.

According to FFP Chairman Majid Shafiq, the initial agreement between the two parties includes the Bradford City Futsal Club hosting Pakistan’s futsal developmental squads. The step will also enable the local Pakistan-origin players in the UK to come forward and participate in the trials.

Shafiq disclosed that the trials in the UK will begin in December, where the FFP will shortlist players ranging from U12 to U23 categories.

Majid hopes to improve futsal in Pakistan

Meanwhile, the FFP is also partnering with the English Football Association National League’s top professional futsal clubs to make Birmingham International Futsal Arena accessible for Pakistani athletes.

M Ali Khan | 8 years ago | Reply FFP is a non-entity. Why is ET promoting them with these pieces? Also, what exactly has Majid Shafiq achieved with KE? KE were lucky enough to be drawn against a Bhutanese and Mongolian club in AFC Cup preliminaries which they were supposed to win (but almost didnt) and KE were humiliated in the Sheikh Kamal Cup too. KE will face equally tough opponents in next round of AFC Cup next year. What next for them when there isnt even a Premier League at all? ET should also write critical pieces on the political nonsense and FIFA patronising of Faisal Saleh Hayat. These planted self-promotion stories are useless filler news.
