    First of all I wish to all my friends and foes in Pakistan a very happy and prosperous New year-2011.
    Whenever I read this kind of drone attack news in western media like just now I read the following news heading in AFP; US drone strike kills seven militants in Pakistan I’m fail to understand that how they know all those killed were terrorists ? Otheway It gives me an impression as if only terrorists stay in Pakistan.Recommend

    This must be the US way of saying “Happy New Year” to the terrorists. @Iftikhar-ur-Rehman, why are you so flustered. According to reports, only the terrorists were killed in the attack. I can understand your outrage if civilians had been hurt. I am against that too.Recommend

    @satyram. FYI the drone attack information comes from Pakistan – not the USA. Your comment implies that the Western media puts a spin on these attacks and that is disingenuous.Recommend

    Killing of both the Mujahhiddin and the tribesmen of the bordering areas of Afghanistan can’t be justified in any of the man-made world laws ie international law. This is ineffiency of the rulers and the contractors of saving the borders of the cournty who were also sharing information with the american CIA officials in the killing of those tribal who have epanded the bounderies of pakistan to the occupied kashmire but pakistani ineligible rulers lost the area by following the charter of UNO. The time is not far to come that Pakistan will once beg to these tribal to take part in war against infidels but then……. Recommend

    I’m extremely happy to read about drone attacks, it means they’ve gotten a few more bas#@$ who might otherwise come into cities and probably plot to kill innocent people.

    Look at it this way, I probably figure we should let the American’s come into the tribal area’s, I mean why not have them clean our mess for us…this way our soldiers don’t die and we let them do the dirty work.

    Some folks here will scream about sovereignty and other such terms, but I’d like to say to them that we gave that all up when we went around the world begging for aid and money and loans and all so lets not get all puffed up about imaginary “izzat” or “ghairat”. Recommend

    @Oberoi

    Thats what the ‘reports’ always say, X number of terrorists killed. However there is no mention of names nor is the media allowed to cover it independently. I wonder how the Americans can claim to only kill terrorists with these ‘precision’ strikes because we know by now that even with their ‘Greatest Army in the History of the World’ they are bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan and the civilian casualties continue to mount everyday. Keeping that track record in mind I am very skeptical of these reports which somehow try to portray that the smart bombs are so smart that they dont kill anyone except the terrorists.Recommend

    This is the USs’ way of saying “Happy New Year” to its most Most Favored Non NATO ally. The spanking the Taliban are giving them remains ‘unpalatable’ and ‘undigested’.

    In nine years they have not made any headway in Afghanistan and are scapegoating Pakistan. The GoP and armed forces should hang tough and not give in to the pressure imposed by the Pentagon.

    salams and best wishes for 2011.Recommend

    @Tahir…..yea sure, after making Afghanistan a trash bin, just let them come inside Pakistan and make it a hell hole too. Before we know it, tomorrow they will also be asking to expand into Balochistan and who knows what will happen next……maybe we will be seeing American tanks in Karachi in a matter of time. Recommend

    “…I’m fail to understand that how they know all those killed were terrorists ? ”
    @Batho Batho
    :…i agree .. how do they know if the people killed were really terrorists..”
    The reason they know that they are hitting terrorists is from their chatter which is constantly monitored 24×7. Beside that, there is human intelligence on ground which directs attacks. No, it is never possible to assure that they are ALL terrorists, nor can you expect to do so in a warlike situation to wait until only terrorists are in your cross-hairs. Some civilians will always be collateral causalities

    @satyam
    “…Otheway It gives me an impression as if only terrorists stay in Pakistan.”
    And those, whom they allow to live or who are needed for their comforts!
    @Imdad
    “…even with their ‘Greatest Army in the History of the World’ they are bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan and the civilian casualties continue to mount everyday. ”
    I suppose Pakistan could have done a better job. Yeah! Do you now understand why India has half-a-million plus troops in Kashmir? If you didn’t have to worry about civil casualties, you wouldn’t need as many troops or the ‘Greatest Army in the History of the World’.Recommend
