Foreign exchange reserves

Letter October 09, 2015
Pakistanis hope that all these reserves are theirs and not loaded with foreign debts from the World Bank, IMF or ADB

RAWALPINDI: Never in the history of Pakistan have our foreign exchange reserves crossed the $20 billion line, claims the government and the prime minister congratulated the finance minister applauding his efforts in achieving this Herculean fiscal marvel.

This is, indeed, a matter to rejoice for all Pakistanis and we sincerely hope, wish and pray that all these reserves are ours and ours alone and not loaded with foreign debts from the World Bank, IMF, ADB, some consortium or any donor country, for which we would have to not only pay back the principal amounts in dollars, euros and yuans, but also heavy interest payments!
