KARACHI: Rangers arrested a Muttahida Qaumi Movement member during a pre-dawn raid at his residence on Thursday, the party said in a statement.

“According to details, a heavy contingent of Rangers raided the house of Kamal Mallick on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday around 2:30am. They scaled the walls of his home and arrested him,” the statement said.

The MQM said Rangers searched Mallick's house and seized his academic records and certificates.

Further, the statement said Mallick is "seriously ill" and had undergone a liver transplant two years ago, the party said.

Claiming that no reason was given for arrest, MQM demanded Mallick’s “immediate release.”

SHN | 8 years ago | Reply Everyone is applauding when basic legal rights of MQM workers are being snatched after arrests, don't forget. It's MQM today, tomorrow it'll be you. Arrested without a charge sheet, then we'll see whose applauding. Such a hypocritical country we've become.
