FAISALABAD:

Commissioner Capt (r) Nasim Nawaz has directed DCOs and DPOs of Faisalabad Division to take stringent security measures during Muharram-ul-Haram in all four districts. He issued the directions at a meeting on Tuesday. Ehsan Tufail, the DPO, AC (Gen) Mehr Shafqatullah and other administrative officers were present. The commissioner stressed the need to increase security measures at sensitive locations and at majalis and Muharram processions. He said any religious conflicts should be resolved peacefully with help from prominent Shiite leaders and representatives of other sects. The commissioner said all possible avenues of disturbance during Muharram had been examined and discussed by the divisional administration. He told representatives of law enforcement agencies to maintain close liaison. RPO Ehsan Tufail laid out salient points for a comprehensive security plan and told administration and police officers to keep a look out at sensitive locations throughout the month.
