Across AJK: Six killed, eight injured in various incidents

Traffic accidents, minor crime mar Eidul Azha

MUZAFFARABAD: At least six people were killed and eight others injured in different accidents across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In the first accident, two brothers were killed when a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle on Naluchi Bridge in Muzaffarabad. The victims, identified as Samiullah, 18, and Hamza, 9, hailed from Boi Village in K-P.  The car driver, Umar Abdullah, was also injured.

In another accident, two people were killed and another injured when their car fell into Jhelum River near Ratti Dahri, some 30 kilometres from Muzaffarabad. The deceased were identified as Maqsood and Faheem. Rescue teams are yet to recover their bodies.

Moreover, a man was killed and three others injured when two motorcycles collided in the Upper Plate area of Muzaffarabad. The deceased was identified as Sohail Munshi while the injured as Usman, Saeed and Haseeb.

Meanwhile, a man was stabbed to death in Bagh on the second day of Eid.

Police said Sharoz, was stabbed to death by Shaib and two accomplices over a petty issue. The police arrested the suspects and registered a case.

In another accident, two motorcyclists were injured by a van in the Bhimber area of Bharnad. In the same area, Ahsan Raza was hit and injured by a speeding van. He was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad.

Another motorcyclist, Rehan, sustained injures in the Dodyal area of Mirpur after his motorcycle hit a wall.
